We offer the following firearms training courses

  • If you do not have your own handgun for any of our courses, we offer handgun rentals for $25.00
  • We have many calibers of ammunition for sale. Prices vary based on caliber.
  • DUE TO AMMUNITION CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS FOR OUR COURSES, NO REVOLVERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY CLASSES. Students are allowed to complete their firearms proficiency course, by appointment, one-on-one with an instructor, regardless of ammunition capacity.
  • DUE TO AMMUNITION CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS FOR OUR COURSES, NO SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOLS WITH A MAGAZINE CAPACITY OF LESS THAN 7 ROUNDS WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY CLASSES. Students are allowed to complete their firearms proficiency course, by appointment, one-on-one with an instructor, regardless of magazine capacity.

Ammunition Requirement: 50 rounds of target ammunition

One-on-one firearms instruction with an NRA-certified instructor

Duration: 4 Hours

Ammunition Requirement: 150 rounds of target ammunition

In this course you will:

  •  Learn the fundamentals of concealed carry
  • Learn handgun maintenance
  • Participate in scenario-based training
  • Shoot 150 rounds of live fire training
 
You will need to bring to class:
 Your semi-automatic pistol w/two magazines (.22 caliber or larger)

New Shooters – Easy Aim Program
The Easy Aim program is designed for brand-new shooters. The program offers 3 phases, which are completed with a certified handgun instructor. The program is designed for 1 on 1 but can be used in a group setting. All firearms and ammunition are provided for the phases. The goal is to learn safe firearms handling and find the right handgun for you!

Phase 1 – Introduction to Firearms Safety – $100.00 – Duration: 1 Hour 15 Minutes 
• Learn firearms safety rules & procedures
• Importance of eye and ear protection
• 22 Pistol, ammo, targets, eye & ear protection all provided
• Goal – Learn the basics of handgun shooting and firearms safety
Phase 2 – Finding the right handgun & caliber – $100.00 – Duration: 1 Hour
• Refresher on firearm safety with a 22 pistol
• Test drive with 380 & 9mm handguns
• Learn the ready positions and breathing techniques
• Goal – Find the best handgun & caliber for you
Phase 3 – Mastering the Fundamentals – $125.00 – Duration: 1 Hour
• Practice with handgun & caliber of your choosing
• 50 rounds of ammunition fired
• Learn the ins and outs of your preferred handgun
• Goal – Master the grip, stance, breathing, and sight picture

IN-PERSON & ONLINE LTC CERTIFICATION

License To Carry Certification

Our in person LTC course (only) fee is $100 which includes the complete course and firearms qualification.

Our Basic Handgun Course (only) fee is $175.

Our in-person combination LTC + Basic Handgun Course is $200

An ONLINE LTC COURSE is available if you do not have the time to attend an in-person class.

Our Online LTC Course fee is $74.99, and the in-person Firearms Proficiency Course fee is $50.

If you have little or no experience with handguns, we recommend you take our Basic Handgun Course

*NOTICE* Due to numerous malfunctions and safety concerns with Hi-Point brand firearms, we do not allow them on our range during firearms qualifications. However, they are allowed on the range for personal shooting.

If you choose to take the ONLINE LTC COURSE, there is an additional fee of $50.00 for the FIREARMS PROFICIENCY COURSE.

Note: Upon successful completion of the in-person or online LTC course you will receive a certificate of completion, the DPS Form LTC-104. You must have this form to complete the application process.

There are two ways to apply for your License to Carry (LTC):

  1. Apply Online (Recommended)
  • Go to dps.texas.gov/section/handgun-licensing
  • On the Popular Services section click on HANDGUN LICENSING Regulatory Services
  • On the HANDGUN LICENSING page, click on Apply for an LTC/Renew an LTC
  • On the Licensing & Registration page follow the instructions under PROGRAM INFORMATION – How to submit a new or renewal handgun license application
  • Click on Step Two: Submit an application online
  • On the bottom left of the next page go to New Users then click on the green APPLY button on the bottom left of the page
  • Complete the application pages and print a copy of each page as you go, for your records
  • You are responsible for submitting any documents DPS requires based on your application information, i.e. LTC-104, DD-214, etc. These may be uploaded to https://www.dps.texas.gov/apps/rsd/contact?sProgram=LTC
  • Upon completion of the application, you will be directed to the page to pay for your license
  • Submit your payment then print your receipt and the forms with the BARCODE and CHECKLIST
  • You will then be directed to another page to schedule a date, time and location to have your fingerprints done and electronically submitted to DPS
  • If you are not directed to the page for fingerprints you can go to indentogo.com/
  • When prompted, you will need to enter Service Code 1119Q91
  • You will need to complete the requested information, then a list of the nearest places to your address to have your prints done will come up
  • Choose the location you want to go to and a calendar with dates and times available will come up
  • Choose the date and time, pay the $12.00 fee and print your confirmation receipt
  • Your license application review process will begin and DPS will notify you if they need any further information or if there are any issues with your application
  • The processing of your application can take up to 30-60 days. If you haven’t received your license within this time period, you can contact DPS at the number listed below.

 

*If you are unable to complete the online application process and you would like us to assist you, our fee is $25.00, and this will have to be scheduled for a day other than your class date.

  • Click on FORMS
  • In the search box enter LTC-78A
  • Print the forms and fill in manually
  • Upon completion of the forms, mail it along with any supporting documents with your application fee by personal check or money order to:
