IN-PERSON & ONLINE LTC CERTIFICATION
License To Carry Certification
Our in person LTC course (only) fee is $100 which includes the complete course and firearms qualification.
Our Basic Handgun Course (only) fee is $175.
Our in-person combination LTC + Basic Handgun Course is $200
An ONLINE LTC COURSE is available if you do not have the time to attend an in-person class.
Our Online LTC Course fee is $74.99, and the in-person Firearms Proficiency Course fee is $50.

If you have little or no experience with handguns, we recommend you take our Basic Handgun Course
*NOTICE* Due to numerous malfunctions and safety concerns with Hi-Point brand firearms, we do not allow them on our range during firearms qualifications. However, they are allowed on the range for personal shooting.
If you choose to take the ONLINE LTC COURSE there is an additional fee of $50.00 for the FIREARMS PROFICIENCY COURSE

Note: Upon successful completion of the in-person or online LTC course you will receive a certificate of completion, the DPS Form LTC-104. You must have this form to complete the application process.
There are two ways to apply for your License to Carry (LTC):
- Apply Online (Recommended)
- Go to dps.texas.gov/section/handgun-licensing
- Under Popular Services click on Apply for an LTC/Renew an LTC
- On the Licensing & Registration page, follow the instructions to Submit a New or When Renewal Handgun License Application
- On the bottom left of this page go to New Users then click on the green APPLY button on the bottom left of the page
- Complete the application pages and print a copy of each page as you go, for your records
- You are responsible for submitting any documents DPS requires based on your application information, i.e. LTC-104, DD-214, etc. These may be uploaded to https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/contact/ltcatt.aspx
- Upon completion of the application, you will be directed to the page to pay for your license
- Submit your payment then print your receipt and the forms with the BARCODE and CHECKLIST
- You will then be directed to another page to schedule a date, time and location to have your fingerprints done and electronically submitted to DPS
- If you are not directed to the page for fingerprints you can go to indentogo.com/
- When prompted, you will need to enter Service Code 1119Q91
- You will need to complete the requested information, then a list of the nearest places to your address to have your prints done will come up
- Choose the location you want to go to and a calendar with dates and times available will come up
- Choose the date and time, pay the $12.00 fee and print your confirmation receipt
- Your license application review process will begin and DPS will notify you if they need any further information or if the are any issues with your application
*If you are unable to complete the online application process and you would like us to assist you, our fee is $25.00, and this will have to be scheduled for a day other than your class date.
- Apply by Mail
- Go to the DPS website at dps.texas.gov
- Click on FORMS
- In the search box enter LTC-78A
- Print the forms and fill in manually
- Upon completion of the forms, mail it along with any supporting documents with your application fee by personal check or money order to:
